Concurrent theatrical ending of the TV series Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995).
After the defeat of the final Angel, Shinji Ikari falls into a deep depression. When SEELE orders the JSSDF to make a surprise attack on NERV’s headquarters, Gendo Ikari retreats down into Terminal Dogma along with Rei Ayanami, where he begins to advance his own plans for the Human Instrumentality Project. Eventually, Shinji is pushed to the limits of his sanity as he is forced to decide the fate of humanity.
After the last terrible events that took place on Earth, the fate of the planet and civilization is extremely difficult to predict. The catastrophes that took place one after another, which were global in nature, caused damage to buildings and structures, which turned them into piles of ruins. The battles of unknown origin that followed these catastrophes by terrible creatures were bloody, as a result of which the majority of the world’s population was destroyed. The survival of those few lucky survivors is now extremely difficult, but necessary, because it is they who can build a world called a new civilization.
Creating a civilization from scratch is not an easy task, for this a certain project has already been created, which is called the “Human Instrumentality”. It provides a new round of evolution, the task and the consequence of which should be the creation of man, as a perfect and developed in all respects, a rational being. Naturally, it will be necessary to act separately, but by joint efforts, and for this purpose ambitions and personal interests should be discarded, all efforts should be directed towards the realization of a single noble goal. Are survivors willing to sacrifice everything for this?
