Bud Jablonski is the real head of the family, consisting of wife Jocelyn and nimble eight-year-old Paige. The girl is an excellent student at a private school, the dentist has prescribed her braces to correct her bite, and the little lady wants her smile to look attractive. This requires money, and the father spends his days collecting garbage in the pools of luxurious mansions, located among the green groves of the San Fernando Valley in California. Neighbors sympathize with the uneducated man, believing that he does not know how and therefore cannot find a more profitable job.
