Young Jun’s insurrection leads to Father Jun’s forced retirement. The remaining Fung Hai battle for leadership. Ah Toy reveals to Nellie her tragic backstory, and her possession of large amounts of land which Nellie suggest they place in her trust. The Juns, have a heart to heart talk which leaves Father Jun under house watch. In court, Zing is sentenced to death by hanging at San Quentin after Bill’s testimony. Leary questions Bill’s swordsman explanation as the city and the Mayor celebrated him and the Chinatown squad. Buckley asks Leary to reexamine his methods and look into political life. Ah Toy severs her business partnership with Patterson. Sophie returns to the Banshee and witnesses Leary in a back alley brawl. Chao offers Ah Sahm some advice. Ah Toy and Lai raid a dirty brothel to liberate Chinese sex workers. From there, Ah Toy take the women to Sonoma, in the care of Nellie, and out of compassion, Ah Toy leaves Lai with them. The next day, at the underground brothel, Bill & the Chinatown squad realizes the implications of another swordsman or the wrong swordsman. Nichols delivers his information to Mai Ling. Lee visit with Timmon’s widow & receives some startling information. Patterson seeks help from an unsavory source in order to get Ah Toy’s land titles back. The business community explain to Mayor Blake, the ramifications of not using Chinese labor and his future political prospects. Penny see Sophie arrive home with Leary, and realize what she has done. A drunken Mayor returns home, where a domestic argument with Penny gets physical. Jacob kills the Mayor.
